Notes: The Carabina Modelo Militar was built to be a low-cost training rifle for troops who would eventually using heavier weapons to teach the basic principles of marksmanship. They were eventually superseded by the FAL Cal .22. The CMM is basically an M-1 Carbine rechambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridges, and is internally almost identical to that weapon. Most of these weapons have been put into storage or sold on the civilian market.

Twilight 2000 Notes: When the Twilight War reached Argentina, these weapons were widely distributed to civilian paramilitary forces and militias, sometimes to children as young as 10. Most Argentines given the CMM used them for hunting, as it made a poor antipersonnel weapon, especially against an enemy equipped with any sort of body armor.

Notes: This basically a FAL that has been rechambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge. This was done because for most basic marksmanship training, using the .22 Long Rifle cartridge has most of the same benefits while being much cheaper than the 7.62 NATO cartridge. The FAL Cal .22 is also useful for teaching care of the rifle, since the innards are virtually identical to the standard FAL. When switching to a standard FAL, all you really have to do is get the troops used to the greater recoil and longer range of the 7.62N round.

Twilight 2000 Notes: As with the CMM above, the FAL Cal .22 was handed out to Argentine irregular and militia forces, ostensibly for use against enemy soldiers; instead, it was largely used for hunting and rat control.
